LRAD BA (Hons)
Laura started dancing at the age of 4. By the time she left school she was certain she wanted to further a career in teaching dance. She completed her A Levels in Dance, English Language and Sports Studies at Yeovil College. At the age of 18 she moved to London to train at The Royal Academy of Dance, where she graduated with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in The Art and Teaching of Ballet and was awared the Licentiate of The Royal Academy of Dance.
During her time at The Royal Academy of Dance, Laura studied ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern and street dance. She completed all her RAD Vocational Grades before graduating in 2006. History of ballet, anatomy, physiology, music and choreography are just a few of the other fields Laura studied. Laura also completed her ISTD Modern Theatre exams up to Advanced 2.
Laura has had many opportunities and experiences of performing on the stage. She has performed title roles with dance companies including The English National Youth Ballet and appeared alongside Ballet Russes.
Upon graduating, Laura was offered a job as a full time dance teacher at a top dance studio 'Valley Dance Theatre' in Virginia, USA. In 2008, Laura put her own ideas into a dance school and this led her to opening 'The Cornwall School of Dance', based in Truro. She later returned to Yeovil and took on the role of ballet teacher at The Dance Factory.
Laura is highly experienced in teaching ballet, modern, tap, street, lyrical, cheerleading, Zumba, Zumba Gold and Zumba Toning. Laura has recently take on the role of mentor for The Royal Academy of Dance distance learning course.
Laura teaches all subjects here at The Dance Factory and since becoming co-owner she has many aspirations of making The Dance Factory a fantastic environment for children to come and dance.
RAD TCert AISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern
Stephanie won a full scholarship at the age of 15 to attend The Stella Mann College, London to train as a dancer and teacher. She gained a distinction in all her vocational dance examinations. Stephanie graduated in 2002 with a performance diploma alongside gaining a distinction in two teaching diplomas with the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and ISTD (Imperial Society in the Teaching of Dance).
Throughout her career, Stephanie has successfully run her own dance school, WGC School of Dance (formed in 2006) in Hertfordshire, where she taught classical ballet, tap, modern, street dance, zumba and lyrical jazz. She has also taught as a freelance dance teacher at private schools in Essex, Somerset, Surrey and London. Stephanie is very proud to have a 100% pass rate for all pupils who have taken dance exams.
Many of Stephanie's past pupils have been awarded places at top ballet schools, such as The Royal Ballet School and Central School of Ballet. Several students have been successful in elite competitions such as "The All England Dance" finals.
Performance opportunities have lead Stephanie to appear as a featured dancer on television shows such as SMTV Live, work with the pop group 'Five' and celebrity presenters including Cat Deeley.
Stephanie has modelled and perfomed at fashion and trade shows including 'Wella', and has performed on stage with ballet companies such as the well known English Youth Ballet and The Kirov Ballet. Stephanie has performed in many top theatres across the country.
Stephanie teaches all subjects here at The Dance Factory. She has a strong passion for choreographing dances for performances and shows. Since becoming co-owner of The Dance factory, Stephanie is delighted to now offer pupils lyrical jazz and street dance. Stephanie was a scholar in these fields during her training and is looking forward to passing on her knowledge and skills to aspiring dancers of today.
